Fresh almond milk is one of the easiest foods to make at home!

Most store-bought almond milks contain harmful additives like synthetic vitamins, sweeteners, inflammatory vegetable oils, homogenizing agents, and more.

Try this quick and easy recipe to make your own at home! It only takes 5 minutes!

The delicate fats and oils in almond milk go rancid very quickly, causing inflammation. Make it fresh and enjoy it quickly! You’ll find that making a small effort to make almond milk equals a big investment in your health. You can adjust flavors, sweetness, and best of all, you can feel a sense of pride in having created your own almond milk from scratch.

Servings 2-3 | Prep time 8 hours | Cook time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 4 cups Spring or filtered water
  • 5 Medjool dates or other sweetener to taste like raw organic honey, date sugar, coconut sugar, xylitol, stevia, etc
  • pinch Sea Salt

Instructions

Step 1

Place your almonds in a glass container completely covered with water. Soak the almonds for at least eight hours (longer is ok), but an hour is fine if that’s what you’ve got! Soaking sprouts the nuts, increasing vitamin content exponentially and makes the protein easier to digest.

Step 2

Next, blend all ingredients including your almonds, sweetener, salt and water for a minute on high in a blender.

Step 3

Strain your almond milk. To do this, you’ll need a glass or stainless steel bowl, some cheesecloth or a nut milk bag. Hold the bag inside the bowl and pour your almond milk inside the bag. Squeeze the milk out of the bag, leaving only the nut meal. You can use the nut meal for baking or putting in smoothies.

Step 4

Store the almond milk in the fridge in a glass mason jar or other container. It will last 2-3 days.
